Work Capacity Evaluations
Work Capacity Evaluations (WCE) are conducted by an occupational therapist with advanced training and specialized skills in Functional Capacity Evaluations. The WCE combines standardized testing with work simulation and clinical observations to determine a client’s ability to participate in work activity. The evaluation can also include an assessment of both functional cognitive abilities and limitations, and behavioural abilities and limitations in relation to the work’s requirements.
Results will determine the feasibility of and barriers to a client’s return to his or her pre-injury job, and/or suggested vocational alternatives. All Work Capacity Evaluation reports are prepared in accordance with the rules of court and clinicians are prepared to testify in court if required.
