Colleen Bognar - Director of Operations – Lower Mainland BC | BA Psych
Colleen Bognar joined the CBI Health Group when OrionHealth Services was acquired in 2015. With just over nineteen years of service she has held numerous roles during her career with OrionHealth and the predecessor company IMS Injury Management Solutions. Her current role is the Director of Operations for the Lower Mainland in BC responsible for the oversight of ten clinics including OrionHealth Surrey, Vancouver and New Westminster.
Colleen completed a Bachelors of Arts degree with a major in Psychology in 1997 from Simon Fraser University and has also completed a Management Certificate in Human Resource Management with honors from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. More recently Colleen has completed a Certificate in Operational Excellence from the UBC Sauder School of Business, the second person to receive this certificate from UBC, as well as a Certificate in Risk Management from McMaster University. Previous volunteer experience includes an appointment to the former Lower Mainland Brain Injury Association Board of Directors and was President of this Association for three years.
Colleen is passionate about health care delivery and providing exceptional quality to all stakeholders.
Dr. Matt Graham - Provincial Mental Health Leader – BC | R.Psych
Matt joined OrionHealth in 2008. He brings a strong combination of treatment expertise in addiction, trauma and pain management. Matt maintains an active publishing record and commits to developing programs that are informed by internal and academic research. Passionate about clinician development, Matt has offered training on various topics: multicultural competency, motivational interviewing, risk management, and management of cumulative stress. He believes and ensures OrionHealth clinicians develop secondary psychological skillsets that enhance the quality of all programs. Matt’s vision for clinical excellence includes fostering personal growth and trusting relationships.
Alan Kaplan - Registered Physiotherapist and Clinic Manager/Clinical Services Manager at OrionHealth Surrey
Alan is the OrionHealth Surrey Clinic Manager/Clinical Services Manager and he graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Manitoba in 1987. Career highlights include development of an injured-worker program for Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, and then building an industrially-focused physiotherapy clinic for Inco Mines in Thompson. After moving to British Columbia in the mid- 1990’s he worked as a consultant for Canada Post, and then as a Recovery Management Coordinator for ICBC. Since 1997 he has worked for OrionHealth as a clinical Physiotherapist across a spectrum of rehabilitation programs with a special interest in return to work rehabilitation and pain management. Alan has been in clinical leadership roles since 2006 and in management roles at the OrionHealth Surrey site since 2010. Post graduate educational focus has included a wide range of courses and conferences on active rehabilitation, manual therapy, ergonomics, disability management, pain management, and leadership. Alan is a member of the CPA (Pain and Leadership interest groups) and in a volunteer position on the Education Committee of PainBC.
Outside of work Alan keeps busy with fitness pursuits, photography, and his two young children.
Jeffrey Krahn - Kinesiologist and Clinic Manager at OrionHealth Calgary
Jeffrey graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He started with OrionHealth in 2009 at the Vancouver Pain Clinic and has since moved on to the Calgary location. His clinical career has focussed on helping clients with chronic pain return to safe and sustainable employment. He has continued to progress his duties with the company and is currently the Clinic Manager at the OrionHealth Calgary location
Jackie Muir - Registered Physiotherapist and Clinic Manager - OrionHealth New Westminster
Jackie Muir is the Clinic Manager at OrionHealth New Westminster and she received her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 1999. She has been practicing in the field Orthopaedics and Disability Management since 2002. She has been involved in mentoring new staff and students. Clinically she is a continuous learner with many courses including Acupuncture Certification, Orthopaedic levels E2V3, Mulligan techniques and Mobilization of the Nervous System. Most recently she has become interested in Rehabilitation for Oncology Patients and has been furthering her education in this field.
In her spare time, Jackie participates in trail ultramarathoning, fast packing, ultimate Frisbee and back country skiing and traveling.
Mark Perkins - Director of Operations - Southern Alberta
Mark has been working in the field of Occupational Rehabilitation since 1996, where he commenced with a clinical role as a Kinesiologist and Rehabilitation Coordinator. Mark followed this working with a large Alberta based employer managing both occupational and non-occupational injuries, before moving into a private consultant role. In 2005 he joined CBI Health initially as a Clinic Manager responsible for all day-to-day operations and integration of clinical best practice. Currently Mark has the role of Director of Operations – Southern Alberta where he is responsible to oversee a network providing strategic direction and operational support. In 2015 the CBI Health Group acquired OrionHealth where he has been working closely with the Calgary Bridgeland clinic supporting clinic management.
Cara Rodrigues - Senior Clinical Practice Manager, B.C. | BSc, BScOT
Cara joined OrionHealth in 2006. With over 13 years experience working as an occupational therapist in return-to-work rehabilitation programs, Cara’s main area of clinical expertise is pain management. She has been a key driver in the evolving treatment approach to chronic pain, specifically as it relates to return-to-work, client experience and clinician development. Her current leadership role includes overseeing the Vancouver and New Westminster sites, where she provides senior oversight for all clinical programs and staff. In addition to her OrionHealth clinical and leadership responsibilities, Cara has a passion for student mentorship. She has Clinical Faculty Status at the University of British Columbia, where she has been actively involved in student education since 2002.
Dr. Elisabeth Saxton - Regional Psychological Programming Lead – AB | R.Psych
Elisabeth joined OrionHealth in 2009 as a clinical psychologist. She has extensive experience in pain management, psychological assessment and program development. Elisabeth empowers clinicians to innovate, creates teams that collaborate seamlessly, and develops dynamic and effective programs for clients. She is a liaison with our referral sources: communicating frequently about OrionHealth services, the high level of staff expertise and outstanding program outcomes. Elisabeth believes our clinicians are our strength; not only through their skills, but also through their passion; and that our treatment is truly interdisciplinary.
Linda Waithman - Senior Occupational Therapy and Leadership Consultant | BScOT
Linda has consulted with OrionHealth since 2003 and joined the leadership team in 2013. She has extensive experience in community rehabilitation: including acute care, community, and long term care. Linda is a previous Board of Director member for OrionHealth and has achieved success in business, healthcare, and medical legal consulting. She is passionate about connecting with people; demonstrating a leadership style that taps into staff’s unique strengths. Linda has used this style to facilitate growth and development for both her clients and colleagues. Her goal is to create successful business development and growth by supporting meaningful connections within our organization, and with our clients and customers to help them achieve their desired goals.
Alice Yu - Clinical Quality Consultant| BSc, BScPT
Alice has been with OrionHealth since 1999. She has extensive experience in pain management and occupational rehabilitation. Alice held a role as Manager of Clinical Quality from 2006 to 2015 and now provides clinical quality consulting services to us, specializing in health care quality improvement. Her main role is to facilitate and support continuous quality improvement efforts within OrionHealth. Alice aims to provide continuous quality improvement achieved through a ‘plan-do-check-act’ approach.
